JEDDAH
— The new managing committee (MC) of International Indian School (IISJ) will have two nominated members out of the total seven members, according to an election notification issued on Sunday. Earlier, all the seven members had been elected from among the parents. But in the new committee, election will be held for five members and the remaining two will be nominated from among parents by the competent authorities. The process of the election of the new MC has begun as per the instructions of the director of foreign education, Ministry of Education, the election commissioner said in a circular distributed among parents.

The tenure of the committee will be for three years. The director of general education, Riyadh, is empowered to give opportunity to one or maximum two members of the previous MC to put up their candidature for the new committee and that is subject to certain conditions, the commissioner said adding that nomination forms will be issued shortly.

The list of eligible voters will be published on Thursday. It will be displayed on the notice board in the Boys’ and the Girls Sections as well as on the school website (www.iisjed.org). The list will consist of parents who hold Indian passports as on Nov. 21 and this date will be considered as the cut-off date for the publication of voters’ list.

The commissioner urged parents to visit the school between 3.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. or the school website to ascertain that their names as voters appear in the list. They have to contact the school’s IT department for rectification if there are any omissions or discrepancies in the voters list.
