JEDDAH — The German Consulate General held an authentic contemporary free jazz evening that brought about a fusion of Saudi-German musicians at the residence of the German Consul General, here, on Saturday.
The Jazz band that performed, was a German-Saudi fusion band, composed of Birgitta Flick, Max Andrzejewski and James Banner with Saudi musicians Mohammad Mahmoud Hakeem and Sultan Abdulmohsin Alfard.
They played a variety of songs, laced with Saudi-German rhythms, that created a harmonious distinctive combination of music between two different cultures.
They played for the first time in Riyadh, last Friday, at KFCC, under the aegis of the German Embassy and the newly established General Culture Authority (GCA).
The aim of these musical events is to increase the exchange of culture and to build a bridge of cooperations between Saudi Arabia and Germany.
During the Jazz evening, Consul General of Germany Holger Ziegeler, indicated that there would be a public classical concert by the Cologne Academy
organized by the General Culture Authority (GCA) of Saudi Arabia, at Nawras Beach in Jeddah’s North Corniche.
