Villa shut as workers found preparing unhygienic food

JEDDAH
— The municipality has closed down a villa in Al-Rawdah District that was being used to prepare food. The municipality confiscated 55 kg of food prepared with unspecified stuff.

A source at the municipality said they received a call informing about a violation at a villa. When they arrived to the location they found out that some workers were using the premises to prepare food without obtaining necessary licenses. The municipality took 35 kg of chicken and meat along with 20 kg of pastries. They have also documented a number of municipal and hygiene violations. The municipality called on public to informs about violations by calling 940.

Meanwhile, the municipality said it has killed 128 animals whose meat was not suitable for eating. During the past month, Jeddah slaughterhouses have received over 80,600 animals including 51,550 sheep, 23,868 goats, 2,883 cows, and 2,330 camels. The three slaughterhouses are: northern slaughterhouse, Al-Sabeel slaughterhouse, and the new slaughterhouse. The northern slaughterhouse received most of the animals followed by the new slaughterhouse.
