Involve traders in the VAT

THE Value Added Tax (VAT) is quite known in a lot of countries around the world.

However, in those other countries, even the lower-class citizens accept and believe in the taxes. That is because they do indeed see its positive effects on their lives. For instance, good services in education, medical insurance, infrastructure projects, and other services which truly make a difference in their lives. That is what our government right now, is trying to achieve.

Although, we may know that such changes and effects would take time to happen. Consequently, I would suggest involving traders, importers, and company owners in paying taxes rather than letting only buyers handle the VAT.

I honestly believe that such involvement is fair and important. Especially that private companies and agencies have been receiving lots of support from the government without paying taxes. This, in fact, results in huge profits not affected by the economic crisis and changes in international markets.

To engage the private sector in the VAT is considered as a service provided to society within the corporate social responsibility. It is a crucial obligation for private sector just as the companies who are applying it in well-developed countries.

Finally, since taxes are still new to the people, I hope institutions accurately provide the VAT so that no one tries to deceive the buyers. I also hope to take into consideration lower-class people who may not be able to pay taxes as well as people with special needs.
