Health Affairs sets up 2017 role model award

JEDDAH — The Health Affairs in Jeddah, represented by King Fahd Hospital, has announced the launch of the inaugural Jeddah Healthcare Role Model Award 2017. The award comes within the framework of the Ministry of Health initiatives to stimulate perseverance in the public healthcare sector and contribute to improving the quality of performance in the field.

Dr. Abdulrahman Bakhsh, director general of King Fahd Hospital, said the aim of the award was to create a competitive and creative environment that would stimulate the development of healthcare and health programs. “It honors health workers for their innovative achievements and efforts to raise the quality and efficiency of public health institutions,” he said.

“The Health Role Model Award 2017 embodies the vision and the directives of our wise leadership to adopt the principles and requirements of a culture of excellence to ensure the best management practices and services and, in line with the government's sustainable plans, keep pace with development on every front,” Bakhsh said.

He went on to stress that Jeddah Health Affairs is keen to promote the concept of organizational excellence concepts, having laid the required foundations to achieve it, and is keen to promote a culture of excellence, innovation and creativity as an essential part of the work environment.

The recipients of the award, who will be nominated by their hospitals and colleagues, will also be honored for their commitment and their consistent dedication to providing excellent patient care.

The National Transformation Program (NTP) in the health sector aims to create added value in the Ministry of Health by improving outcomes, getting services and means of providing them to patients, as well as providing integrated healthcare up to the highest international standards.
