BAGHDAD — Officials say a roadside bomb has killed at least seven people in a Baghdad suburb while the bodies of three construction workers were found elsewhere in the Iraqi capital.

A police officer says the Wednesday morning blast struck at a busy street in the southeastern suburb of Nahrawan. He says it killed seven people and wounded 15.

Another officer says the bodies of three workers were found inside a house under construction in southeastern Zafaraniyah neighborhood on Wednesday. The three were shot in the head at close range.

Two medical officials confirmed the casualty figures. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to talk to the media. The violence comes a day after 49 people died in a wave of bombings and attacks across Iraq. — AP
