Egyptian community honors Qur'an and Hadith contest winners

Egyptian Consul General Adel El Alfy attended the 18th awards ceremony for the winners of the Qur'an Memorization and Hadith contests held on Wednesday evening at the King Abdulaziz Cultural Center in Abrug Al-Raghama.

JEDDAH — Egyptian Consul General Adel El Alfy attended the 18th awards ceremony for the winners of the Qur'an Memorization and Hadith contests held on Wednesday evening at the King Abdulaziz Cultural Center in Abrug Al-Raghama.



The ceremony enjoyed the full support of Egyptian Ambassador Afifi Abdul Wahab and was held in the presence of Abdullah Basfar, head of the International Holy Qur'an Memorization Organization.



The ceremony was organized with the participation of Egyptian professional associations and the women’s association. The number of competitors reached 470 in different grades and they competed in seven branches.



The top winners who memorized the Holy Qur'an were Areej Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Fatima Farid Abu Bakr and Tasneem Mohamed El Shahat. Sara Mostafa El-Sayed was awarded for memorizing 20 parts of the Holy Book.



Habiba Ahmed El-Shafei, Shaima Ali Bassiony, Asmaa Ryadh Al-Najjar, Safa Ibrahim Hussein Al-Najjar, Aya Samir Zarea and Hajar Ahmed Abdul Rahman were awarded for memorizing 10 parts of the Holy Qur'an.



Winners who memorized five parts were Mariam Medhat Mohamed, Mariam Salah Abdul-Hamid, Arwa Ahmed Al Saadi, Maghfera Medhat Mohamed, Nuran Abdel-Moneim, Habiba Tariq Hosni, Khloud Jowda Ali, Shurouk Yahya Salem and Basmala Samir Hussein.



Mariam Ryadh Ali, Asma Ali Ryadh and Manar Ahmed Abdul Rahim were honored for memorizing Hadith.
