JEDDAH – The Jordanian Consulate General hosted a reception on the occasion of the country’s 67th Independence Day Friday evening at Jeddah Hilton Hotel.



Consul General Aly Al-Ghazawie and other consulate staff received guests who included diplomats from several countries and prominent Saudi personalities. Ambassador Farid Azhar, deputy director general at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Makkah Region, was the chief guest.



The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an, followed by the Saudi and Jordanian national anthems.



In his speech, Al-Ghazawie expressed his pleasure to celebrate his country’s 67th Independence Day. He also mentioned the sacrifices made by the Jordanian people to gain independence and praised the deep, brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan under the wise leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.
