JEDDAH — Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah province, announced that he is a proud supporter of the second National Productive Families Conference and Exhibition. The event will be launched under the slogan: “Toward building the ideology of Made in KSA” on Saturday.



Delegates from the business community representing both the public and private sectors will attend to discuss the strategic importance of locally-made products.



This event is organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), represented by the Jeddah Social Responsibility Committee, to support productive families and expose their hand-crafted products to the local market.



The exhibition, which will be held at the Jeddah Hilton Hotel, will last for three days. Over 350 families are expected to participate and their creations and ideas on display.



Sheikh Ahmed Al-Hamdan, head of Jeddah Social Responsibility Committee, thanked and expressed his appreciation to Prince Khaled for supporting an important national event.



“The staunch support of such events is evidence of Prince Khaled’s care and interest in encouraging productive families to continue their work; all are in line with the vision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to help these hard working families gain financial independence,” he said.



“The 2nd National Productive Families Conference and Exhibition aims to discuss the strategic steps in making the concept of productive families as a key pillar in developing the Saudi economy. “Professionals will explore and evaluate productive families’ current and future opportunities toward achieving sustainable national development. Links will be drawn between productive families and leading Saudi firms so that they will get the support they need,” Al-Hamdan added.



Sheikh Saleh Kamel, Chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has taken personal interest in supporting the new productive families sector, and expressed his desire to develop a unified organization for this important and active sector.



The event will also include sessions to discuss the establishment of marketing training for productive families and develop a system for quality control, classification and creating competition with their products in the local market.
