JEDDAH — Exhibitors of the three-day MEDEXPO’s second edition that kicked off earlier this week showed off products that had not entered the Saudi market yet.
Out of the 200 exhibitors representing 27 countries, some companies were enthusiastic to showcase their products for the first time in the Kingdom.
Smart Medical Technology, a US company that specializes in medical mattresses, exhibited a mattress that helps nurses easily move patients weighing up to 450 kg from stretchers or beds to operations, CT, X-ray and catheter lab tables.
According to Curtis Pouncy, COO of Smart Medical, it has been used in USA for seven years but still not used in the Saudi market.
Another company, Advangene Consumables that specializes in high tech disposable plasticware, came up with new test kits that is used for cancer tissue samples, especially breast cancer and stomach cancer.
LODAAT Compan, which specializes in alternative complementary medicine, had all brand new products.
“Every visitor that came to our booth was asking where we can get these products from and whether they were available in the Saudi market,” said LODAAT official Rajiv Khatau.
LOODAT exhibited therapy tools that help in easing pain, stress and even mats for diabetic patients.
Pressure mats with sharp points that the patient can stand on to increase blood circulation then helps in insulin production.
Also, it has a band with magnets that helps in blood flow, thus helping relieve migraines. A belt-like massage tool for back pain with its bright yellow color attracted visitors.
The Su Jok ring, named after the physician who came out with it, is another tool.
It is a metal ring that is used to penetrate each and every single nerve in the finger, increasing blood flow and circulation all over the body and giving more energy.
LODAAT also offered herbal botanical supplements and each kind has certain properties like rejuvenating muscles, giving energy, anti-aging, support for cardiac and diabetes patients, weight loss, rejuvenating skin and smoking cessation.
Saudi companies also presented new products for hospitals and over-the-counter customers.
Ashnan Medical presented a new device for daily use footwear sterilization, which received a great response form MEDEXPO visitors.
The device is powered by electricity, 40 minutes for every pair of footwear.
It is designed to be used after footwear use. Mohammad Ali, a visitor who was interested in the device, said it would be helpful especially during summer.
