Suspects in shooting of Tabuk prison director held

TABUK — A number of suspects who are thought to be involved in the shooting of Col. Sabah Al-Zamhari, Director of Tabuk Prison, on Wednesday have been arrested. Col. Al-Zamhari suffered a bullet wound in the right thigh.

Maj. Gen. Ali Al-Harthi, Director General of Prisons in the Kingdom, made the announcement and said the incident was a terrorist act.

Al-Harthi said Col. Al-Zamhari was strictly implementing Ministry of Interior directives banning the entry of any prohibited substance, particularly drugs, into the prison.
