RIYADH — Police here nabbed four members of a gang that robbed Asian taxi drivers of their possessions and money.

According to police, one of the gang members would dress up in an abaya and pose as a woman while the other three would pose as relatives. All four would then hail a cab and ask the unsuspected driver to take them to a secluded area where they would rob the driver of his money and possessions at knifepoint and speed off with the taxi.

The gang managed to rob several Asian taxi drivers in Riyadh’s Manfooha district using the same method before police officers set up an ambush and apprehended them.

The gang has been referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution but police are still investigating the gang’s crimes and have yet to determine the number of robberies the gang has carried out.
