JEDDAH — Sharafiyah District Police are investigating the story of an Asian nurse in which she claimed to have been abducted and raped by an unknown assailant. The nurse who works for a private hospital in Jeddah said in her complaint that she was kidnapped outside the hospital while walking on Palestine Street. The assailant is alleged to have sprayed her face with a drug that made her lose consciousness after which he sped off with her in his car and raped her in an undisclosed location. The nurse is currently recovering in the hospital where she works.Police investigators began to doubt her story after she said she was kidnapped at 9 P.M., a time when the section of Palestine Street where she claimed to have been kidnapped from is bustling with traffic. Brig. Mesfer Al-Juaid, Jeddah Police spokesman, confirmed these doubts and said the nurse also could not provide any details about the rapist, his vehicle or license plate number.Investigations are still going on and police hope to have more information soon.
