The T/20 World Cup Final is being played on Sunday at R. Premadas Stadium in Colombo between two worthy finalists, Sri Lanka and West Indies. Sri Lanka remain unbeaten in the Super Eights matches.

Although Sri Lanka beat West Indies at Pallekele by a huge nine wicket margin, the way the Caribbeans toyed with the mighty Australians in the semi-final match on Friday, promises us a keenly contested final. Captain Mahela Jayawardena’s team will have the support of a capacity crowd of over 35,000 cricket crazy fans, screaming their lungs out while Chris Gayle will be preparing to dazzle the crowd with his powerful sixes. Already he has the highest number of sixes to his credit in the 2012 T/20 World Cup, and who can prevent him from adding some more in the final? We wish both teams the best of luck and the spectators and the viewers good entertainment. We are certain that they will get their money’s worth. The organizers of the competition deserve all the credit for an incident free, peaceful World Cup.

Finally a little advice to the spectators: Chris Gayle will be batting. Please wear your helmets, for your own safety!S. H. Moulana, Riyadh
