JEDDAH — Lebanon Consul General Ziad Atallah held a reception ceremony on honor of ambassador Mohammad Ahmad Al Tayeb, director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Makkah region and permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Atallah and his wife received guests who were consul-generals of many Arab and non-Arab countries as well as many Saudi and Lebanese businessmen and personnel at the consulate building in Basateen district in Jeddah.
The ceremony began with Lebanese and Saudi national anthems.
Atallah congratulated the Lebanese on the presidential elections expressing his confidence that the new era would be up to hopes of the Lebanese people, jubilantly enhance the firm and rooted relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
In his speech Atallah commended the great solidarity between the Kingdom and Lebanon and said, “This Lebanese community came today to confirm gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, may Allah preserve him, the Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince and the Saudi people on all the attention and concern and the brotherly relations.”
Al Tayeb also congratulated the Lebanese on electing Michel Aoun the president of the Republic of Lebanon and wishing Lebanon and the Lebanese a new era that opens up broad prospects and opportunities.
Tayeb added: "Lebanese living in Saudi Arabia are brothers whom with their sincere work have contributed with Saudis in constructing the Kingdom.
Lebanon would always receive, the focus and attention of the Kingdom.”
Al Tayeb concluded hoping security, stability and prosperity to prevail in Lebanon and that the coming period would be deepening the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries.
Atallah presented a trophy to Al Tayeb on appreciation of his efforts to Lebanese community. Another trophy Atallah presented to Tunisia Consul General Fathi Nefatti prior to leaving Jeddah, having completed his term in Kingdom.
