Pakistan's Musical Brilliance Shines In ‘Sohni Dharti’

Coke Studio 8’s curtain raiser created a buzz on social media with the hashtag #CokeStudio8. Shahnaz Begum's Sohni Dharti is a grand tribute that comprises of one of the most diverse set of musicians not just in Pakistan but also in the world. The two-minute video is perhaps a reminder of Pakistan's golden heritage and a reminder to those who may have forgotten. The teaser features various legends and fresh talent showcasing their patriotism. The artists include Fairda Khanum, Atif Aslam, Alam Lohar, Ali Haider, Ali Azmat, Kaavish, Sara Haider, Mai Dhai, Quratulain Baloch, Hamid Ali Khan and many others.  Sohni Dharti, is a tribute to composer Sohail Rana and Masroor Anwar. Coke Studio, produced by Strings, returns for its eighth season on the 16th of August.
