JEDDAH — The Jordanian Consulate in Jeddah hosted a reception on the occasion of the 69th Independence Day on Sunday.



Consul General Majid Thalji Al-Qatranh and consulate staff received guests who included princes, diplomats, prominent Saudi personalities and Jordanian community members.



The celebration began with a recitation of some verses of the Holy Qur’an and was followed by the Saudi and Jordanian national anthems.



In his speech, Al-Qatranh paid tribute to the “deep and strong relations” between Saudi Arabia and Jordan.



Al-Qatranh said people’s standards of living under the leadership of Jordanian King Abdullah II had improved. Consuls general were invited to cut the celebration cake and then dinner was served to the guests.



The ceremony also hosted a Jordanian popular folk show.
