If you like beach sports then take a look at Sportsville, a new business that has been initiated by a group of youth in Jeddah.
The group, all friends, likes to play sports on Jeddah’s beaches and so decided to launch their own business. Visitors can play beach soccer, volleyball, badminton and indulge in running and jogging at Sportsville.
“We have previous experience in sports businesses and wanted to develop a new and unique project that fulfils the requirements of people who like to play beach sports,” said Amjad Fadil, project manager for Sportsville.
“We did a lot of feasibility studies before deciding to proceed with this idea. We arranged the required investment, and then prepared a marketing plan based on our investment objectives,” he added.
“Based on our studies, we found that Sportsville would be a great business opportunity, especially since it is the only official sporting field on a beach in Saudi Arabia,” he said.
The name for the venue, Sportsville, came about because the group wanted a name epitomizing their goal which was encouraging sports.
“We also developed a slogan that summarizes our objectives: ‘Feel the Goal, Excitement, Sand, Energy, Team and Power. Feel the Beach Sports.’
The purpose of this business is for there to be a proper place to play beach sports and we hope that we can be pioneers in this genre of sports in the Kingdom,” he added.
Since playing sports on the beach is a new concept in the Kingdom, friends of the core group did not initially like the idea.
“At present, Sportsville is the only beach venue in the Kingdom for sports. Our sports areas are located on sandy beaches as per the requirements and standards of FIFA and FIVB,” said Fadil.
“Sportsville is a destination for all sports fans, not only those who love beach sports. These types of sports are healthy and challenging. We also arrange special activities for companies.
We have a lot of open days, and allow for team building events and other awards events,” said Amjad.
Sportsville aims to continue working closely with its customers to provide an excellent service to customers and hold special sports events and competitions throughout the year, particularly during Ramadan.
