Award winning photographer Steve McCurry marked his first collaboration with The Empty Quarter in the new project called ‘7 Princesses’ in United Arab Emirates.



The photographs were taken within the seven Emirates of the UAE showcasing Emirati culture, landscape and women. Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, ‘7 Princesses’ had a private opening at Fairmont the Palm on the 9th of March and was later followed by a public gallery opening at The Empty Quarter in DIFC.



“When photographing the 7 princesses project in the seven different Emirates I was very intrigued that this could be a very new and adventurous experience,” McCurry told Saudi Gazette.



In his remarkable 30-year-old career, McCurry has a record of producing stunning images across six continents. Remember that photograph of the Afghan Girl on the cover of National Geographic? That was a Steve McCurry piece.



His work has been the cover of various books and magazines including countless exhibitions across the world. The photographer documents powerful human elements that capture the world’s attention.



‘7 Princesses’ exhibition will run till the 16th of April. This was Steve’s second solo show with the gallery.
