JEDDAH — The family of the late Dr. Ghazi Algosaibi have marked his 75th birthday — which would have fallen on Monday — by launching a website to commemorate his achievements.

‎‏His son Suhail said: “The idea of the website came in response to posthumous requests by my late father’s fans in Saudi Arabia and across the Gulf to publish information, pictures and videos about his remarkable life.

“The website www.ghazialgosaibi.com launched in a preliminary format and developed on an ongoing basis in line with feedback from website visitors. “We want it to be a true testament to his memory and his achievements.” ‏The website will include a biography of Algosaibi, quotes from his family, friends and colleagues, a list of his publications and a photo archive.

“It will also include a page that allows visitors to voice their opinions about my father and get feedback on the website itself,” said Suhail.

‎‏Algosaibi was a poet, author, novelist, minister and ambassador who served in the Saudi government for around four decades under the late kings Faisal, Khalid, Fahd and Abdullah. He died from cancer on Aug. 15, 2010, at King Faisal Specialist Hospital.
