JEDDAH — Pakistani Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq met with the head of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Ahmed Mohammed Ali on Monday to discuss matters related to further enhancing relations between Pakistan and IDB in various sectors.

 

Pakistani Consul General Aftab A. Khokher was also present during the meeting.

 

Haq also conveyed the good wishes of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the IDB president, who congratulated the ambassador on his recent appointment and promised full support from IDB in providing a partnership role in the economic development of Pakistan.

The ambassador informed Ali that the economic policies pursued by the government of Pakistan have started producing a positive impact on the overall economy of the country.

 

Ali said IDB was ready to play its role and help Pakistan enhance its relations with the Islamic world.

 

The president said that Pakistan was an important member of the IDB and hoped that the country would continue to progress.

 

 

He said the bank would do whatever it could to help Pakistan develop and meet the aspirations of its people and leadership.
