CommVault and Fujitsu expanded their partnership to deliver integrated hardware snapshots and replication for Fujitsu Eternus DX storage arrays powered by CommVault Simpana 9 software.

CommVault offers technology access and open, unified hardware snapshot management across multiple storage systems as part of its IntelliSnap Connect Program. As a result of these innovations and its Solving Forward vision, CommVault is enabling high-performance storage vendors such as Fujitsu to integrate their array-based snapshot solutions with the hardware snapshot data protection module in CommVault Simpana software.

CommVault Simpana 9 software’s compatibility with Fujitsu Eternus DX S2 Series storage systems, reduces the cost, complexity and risk associated with hardware snapshot management by eliminating the need to create and maintain scripts or manage numerous storage array tools and consoles.

By automating snapshot copies of data using the Eternus DX S2 Series and CommVault Simpana software, backup times can be slashed without impacting production.

Fujitsu customers can also use Simpana software to copy data from Eternus DX systems to Eternus CS data protection appliances, delivering a powerful yet economical combination of short-term data protection with long-term data retention, on disk, tape or the cloud. – SG
