JEDDAH — Pakistan International School (PISJ) Aziziyah organized a grand Qur'an recitation competition at the school auditorium last week.



Pakistan world's renowned Qur'an recitation figure, Syed Sadaqat Ali, was the chief guest at the event. He presented the prizes to the students who achieved a position in the contest.



Social worker of the Pakistani community Mohamed Asif attended the function as the guest of honor. The program started with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an by Mohammed Shabbir. Naat was presented by a student of grade 7, Ali Raza.



Addressing the gathering, Sadaqat stated special arrangements should be made by the school management for memorization and recitation of the Qur'an.



According to the official judges, the first position went to Abu Baker Wasaya of grade 12; second to Syed Mumtaz Ali of grade 12, and the third position went to Tahseen Hussain of grade 9.



Diginitaries and senior officials of the School Management Consul (SMC), including Tariq Lateef and Afzal Gondol, were also in attendance. Principal Mohammed Bilal congratulated the winners and thanked the guests and participants.



He promised to make special arrangements for the recitation and memorization of Qur'an.
