Garden by the Bay is easily one of the main attractions of Singapore. The outstanding beauty will leave you speechless, especially when the Suppertrees light up at night.
Garden by the Bay is a man-made garden with a colossal collection of plants from all over the world. There is also a dedicated section inside the garden for Middle Eastern plants.
You will be surprised to see palm dates that grow in Saudi Arabia well taken care of in the flower dome at the gardens. Both domes are air-conditioned to protect the plants inside.
The water park provides an amazing experience for children. The venue should be one of the first on your list of places to visit when in Singapore.
The flower dome provides a unique experience with a spectacular design. It replicates a cool dry climate of the Mediterranean region, like South Africa, California, and parts of Spain and Italy. It is home to a collection of plants from all over the world.
Throughout the journey inside the dome, you can smell the aroma of different types of flowers. There is a special section called World of Palms that celebrates the rich diversity of the world of tropical palms and their particular ecological origins. Different shapes of fronds and seeds, as well as the versatile use of palms are also highlighted.
A visitor should not miss the opportunity to visit the Cloud Forest, which is completely different from the flower dome. 35 meters high, the Cloud Forest is covered with lush vegetation covering the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. This dome showcases vegetation from the tropical highland.
A visitor will be lifted by an elevator to the top of the mountain and then descend through walkways filled with clouds. Throughout the descent, you feel as if you are walking through the clouds into a real jungle with the smell of trees and the sound of waterfalls.
The main attraction of the place is the Supertree Grove, designed in tree-like structures between 25 and 50 meters in height. The Supertrees are uniquely designed vertical gardens, with emphasis placed on creating a “wow” factor through the vertical display of tropical climbers, epiphytes and ferns. At night, these canopies will come alive with lighting and projections.
Given our equatorial climate, the grove of Supertrees will help to amend discomfort by providing shade and shelter with the canopy. The Supertrees are embedded with sustainable energy and water technologies that are integral to the cooling of the conservatory.
Supertrees can be found around the garden, twelve of them at the Supertree Grove while the remaining six are placed in a cluster of threes at the golden and silver garden. You can enjoy walking on the skyway, a 128-meter long walkway in a 22 meters high that connects two of the Suppertrees at the Suppertree Grove. All in all, it is an experience that should not be missed.
