JEDDAH — Omani Consulate General celebrated Oman’s 44th National day anniversary at Crowne Plaza Hotel here Tuesday.
Consul General Jumaah Al Rashdy and consulate members received Ambassador Jamal bin Bakr Balkheyour, chief of protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Makkah Region,Saudi dignitaries, senior officials, consuls general, diplomats, media representatives and officials of international and regional organizations.
The ceremony began with the playing of Omani and Saudi national anthems. A representative from Oman consulate general delivered a speech, in which he congratulations the Omani people and Sultan Qabous Bin Said.
He also extended his appreciation to the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, and the government for their constant support given to the Consulate General of Oman.
November 18th, 1970 marked the era of the renaissance in Oman. Oman had taken many measures to increase local investments and attract foreign investors.
Rashdy with Balkheyour and other consuls general cut the ceremonial cake. Crowne Plaza’s Crystal hall was packed with a crowd of guests celebrating the 44th anniversary of Oman National Day with zest.
Guests had the chance to listen to Omani national songs and taste delicious famous Omani “Halwa.”
Some of the guests were Consul General of Sudan Khaled Al-Taras, Consul General of Palestine Dr. Emad Sha’at, Consul General of Algeria Saleh Atiyah, Consul General of Turkey Fikret Ozer, Consul General of South Africa Ebrahim Edries, Egypt’s Consul General Adel El Alfy, Lebanon Consul General Ziad Atallah, Consul General of Korea Nak-Young, among others.
Oman government is paying great attention to develop the country's sectors and fields including tourism to advertise and present Oman as a great tourist destination, which will increase the income and create a stronger economy.
