This refers to the article “Arabs must win American hearts and minds” (July 22) by Ray Hanania. I think that the author has lavishly praised America which it does not deserve. It has been proved that no matter how sincere you are with America, it will not be your friend because it has selfish motives in the back of its mind. America will only offer unlimited support to Israel, and once the Arab world ceases to be of any benefit to America, it will attack Arab countries. Take the example of Saddam Hussain; he was America’s supporter, but the US attacked Iraq to remove Saddam when it suited its purposes to do so.

Pakistan has been supporting the US in the war against terrorism, but every now and then, America threatens to stop aid to Pakistan, if Pakistan does not act as per America’s wishes. The US will break relations with any country no matter how long it has had friendly relations with it. The only exception is Israel. Such hypocrisy will not serve America well, and the US will one day find that it does not have any friends on its side.
